About Me

I graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a B.A. in Writing Seminars, with additional coursework in Literature, History, Psychology, Sociology and French. I have tutored variously-aged students in different subjects: high school students in English and the SAT Critical Reading and Writing sections; elementary school children in literacy; and adults in basic math. I have also taught World Religions to students at the Columbia University High School Summer Program, and creative writing/literature to high schoolers at the Young Writers Workshop at University of Virginia, as well as to adults in workshops all around Baltimore. I have a deep love for learning, reading and writing, but am eager to share that excitement and help others to find it. However, I am also keenly aware of the difficulties students can have with reading comprehension, writing clearly or understanding various subjects, especially if they are not receiving enough specific attention at school. I believe in meeting the student where he or she is at, and tailoring lessons to their needs and interests - making education a collaborative effort. In my spare time, I also enjoy traveling, baseball, music, and theatre.
