So how do we learn about shapes? We can build them with sticks and clay, and we can draw them with crayons and pencils. When we build and draw shapes, we learn what makes each shape special!

Look at the picture above. Can you count the sides and corners on each shape? A triangle has 3 sides and 3 corners. A square has 4 sides that are all the same length. A rectangle also has 4 sides, but two sides are longer than the other two!
