Then you give your reasons, each one followed by evidence (facts, descriptions, or examples). Finally, your conclusion wraps it all up and reminds your audience of the main point.

Chronological Order (Time Order)

Arrange events from first to last. This works great for history reports or telling a story. Example: "First the colonists protested taxes. Then they wrote the Declaration. Finally, the war began."

Cause and Effect

Explain what happened and why. Example: "Because the river flooded, the town lost power for three days."

Problem and Solution

Describe a problem, then explain how to fix it. Example: "Our school lunch line is too slow. We could add a second checkout station."

Order of Importance

Start with the least important point and build to the most important—or the other way around. Ending with your strongest point often leaves the biggest impression.
