Thomas is a seasoned educator and scholar with an extensive academic background and fourteen years of experience teaching at the college level and in test preparation. He holds a BA in History, International Relations, Social Relations, and Political Theory from Michigan State University, an MSc in Historical Studies from the University of Strathclyde, and an MA and ABD in History from Central Michigan University. Over the course of his career, Thomas has worked as a college instructor in history and honors writing, a tutor, a book editor, an author on test prep, a game-based learning instructor, and a standardized test designer and scorer. While he teaches a broad range of subjects, he is most passionate about History, Writing, and Test Prep. He has a strong track record of helping students from all backgrounds achieve academic success.

Over four intensive sessions, you'll develop the critical reading, verbal reasoning, and analytical thinking skills the LSAT demands — not by grinding through content alone, but by learning the targeted techniques that make each section approachable under timed pressure. You'll walk away with a clear understanding of how the exam is structured and scored, section-specific strategies for every question type, and the sharpened instincts to recognize and dismantle the test's trickiest traps. - Session 1: LSAT Overview & Argument Family Questions — Exam structure, scoring, study planning, and Argument Family question types including Main Point, Role of a Statement, and Parallel Reasoning.
- Session 2: Assumption Family Questions — Necessary and Sufficient Assumption, Flaw, Strengthen/Weaken, and Parallel Flaw questions with focus on identifying unstated premises and closing logical gaps.
- Session 3: Non-Argument Family Questions — Inference, Paradox, and Principle question types with flexible reading strategies for drawing valid conclusions from complex stimuli.
- Session 4: Reading Comprehension & LSAT Writing — Passage mapping, main point identification, author tone, comparative passage strategies, and an overview of the writing sample.
