This 8-week ACT prep course gives high school students a systematic, strategy-first approach to conquering every section of the test — English, Math, Reading, and Science. Students work through real ACT content using proven techniques like backsolving, pick-a-number, and active annotation, while also building the mental toughness to perform under timed pressure. Whether you're aiming to break 30 for the first time or push past a plateau, this course delivers the skills, structure, and practice you need to hit your target score. Eight focused sessions, one clear goal: walk into test day ready.
The ACT rewards students who know the test as well as they know the content — and this 8-week course teaches both. Across eight live, instructor-led sessions, students get systematic coverage of all four ACT sections (English, Math, Reading, and Science), paired with smart test-taking strategies that work on both the paper and digital formats. This isn't a passive review course. Every session is built around active practice, real ACT-style questions, and the kind of concrete feedback that actually changes your score.
Math: From Algebra to Geometry with Smarter Shortcuts The Math section covers the full range of tested concepts — Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry — with special attention to the word problems that trip up so many students. But beyond content review, students learn how to work smarter: backsolving (plugging answer choices back into the problem) and pick-a-number (substituting simple values for variables) are drilled as reliable strategies for problems that seem complex at first glance. Geometry topics include triangles, circles, coordinate geometry, and layered multi-step problems that require applying formulas in sequence.
English and Reading: Precision and Active Comprehension In the English section, students sharpen their command of punctuation rules (commas, apostrophes, dashes), sentence structure, and rhetorical skills — the stuff the ACT tests again and again. Reading instruction focuses on active strategies: annotating passages, locating key evidence quickly, and answering inference and main idea questions with confidence. Students also learn to approach conflicting viewpoints passages — one of the trickiest question types — with a clear analytical framework for comparing arguments.
Science: It's About Reading Data, Not Memorizing Facts Many students are surprised to learn that ACT Science isn't really a science test — it's a data interpretation test. This course demystifies the section by training students to read graphs and tables efficiently, identify trends and variables, understand experimental design, and navigate conflicting scientist passages where two viewpoints must be compared and evaluated. No advanced biology or chemistry required — just sharp reading and reasoning skills.
Strategy, Pacing, and the Mental Game Two of the biggest score-killers on the ACT are poor time management and test anxiety — and both are addressed head-on in this course. Students practice pacing strategies tailored to each section, learn when to skip a question and come back, and simulate real timed conditions through targeted drills. Beyond the clock, the course also addresses the mental side of high-stakes testing: how to build a pre-test routine, manage panic in the moment, and approach the exam with a growth mindset. Students also keep error logs throughout the course — a structured method for reviewing practice test mistakes, identifying recurring patterns, and converting errors into lasting improvement.
