Amalia Fernand is an environmental educator and world explorer who makes classes come alive with stories from her real-life adventures, props from her science shelf, and live program animals. The founder of Nature Explorers International, she has developed dozens of nature camps and classroom programs to inspire students to explore the world around them, appreciate wildlife, and become stewards of the environment. During classes, she is regularly joined by her friends Scaly the corn snake, Slimy the tiger salamander, and Lizzie the leopard gecko.
Astronomy Is Stellar transforms the night sky from a mysterious backdrop into a map you can actually read. In weekly sessions led by an expert instructor, students explore the constellations, moon phases, eclipses, and the difference between stars, planets, and meteors — then learn to use real software like Stellarium and NASA's Eyes on the Solar System to navigate the cosmos on their own. Whether you're a curious beginner or a backyard stargazer, this class gives you the knowledge to look up and actually know what you're seeing. The universe is out there waiting — let's go explore it.
