As an educator, I am enthusiastic about finding what motivates my students! I am eager to build strong relationships with open communication, trust, and friendship. I believe that successful teaching and learning is best granted through a conversation: what excites you about this topic? How can you relate this topic to your own life? As an eccentric traveler, learner, and collector of oddities I am proud of the experience I bring to the table with my students.

I have a Master's Degree in Physics and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from two top Universities in Minnesota. I have 5+ years of experience in teaching both Physics and Chemistry at the collegiate level. My philosophy about teaching Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is that helping students develop insight, deep intuition, and a profound level of intimacy with concepts leads to a greater appreciation of the topic, an innate desire to learn it, and unavoidably, HIGHER TEST SCORES. I connect concepts with real world examples and bridge topics with multidisciplinary applications, helping students see the connectedness of the physical sciences and mathematics. With such a deep understanding and appreciation, students build a knack for QUICK AND CLEVER SOLUTIONS that prove to be extremely EFFICIENT IN EXAMS AND COMPETITIVE ACADEMICS.I am highly DIVERSITY-COMPETENT, both in the sociological sense and the academic sense. There is a diverse spread of students' backgrounds and needs that require thought and preparation on the teacher's part that come before the teaching. For example, I maintain caution when deciding to share or not share mathematical subtleties, computational details, and connections to higher-level topics, depending on the students' mathematical background, whether they are in a field that will later utilize some of those subtleties and details, or if they are in a non-physical science field trying to supplement their main educational goals with some additional coursework. As seen by some of my accolades such as "BEST GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT of the year 2015 at University of Minnesota - Duluth", and consistently high reviews from students, I aim and succeed in providing thoughtful, high-quality, and tailored assistance with sustainable results for each of my students.

Algebra 2 Tutor • +28 Subjects
I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Dallas, where I am simultaneously pursuing a B.S. in Psychology and a B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. I have taught adult ESL classes for nearly two years as part of a volunteer program at my school, which has given me a strong background in education and organizational skills. I am a fluent speaker of English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and I am in the process of learning Mandarin Chinese. Being an avid reader and learner of languages, my most passionate tutoring subjects are SAT Critical Reading, SAT Writing, Spanish, and general writing/grammar skills. My approach to tutoring emphasizes improving studying and test-taking skills, as well as guiding students to their own, genuine understandings of the material at hand through thought-provoking questions and engagement in critical thinking, as opposed to rote learning techniques. In my free time, I enjoy reading, biking, listening to music, and cooking.

Adult Literacy Tutor • +33 Subjects
Hello! My name is Anya, I'm so happy that you are considering me to be your tutor. The experience that makes me qualified to be your tutor is best exemplified in my resume, but like anyone else there is so much more to me than what you can see on a piece of paper. Besides having a lot of experience tutoring and being qualified educationally; I am also a funny, outgoing, goodhearted and friendly person. I love to build personal relationships with my clients, which makes me unique in that each tutoring session is structured around the individual needs of my student. However, although I am friendly and fun I also am fairly strict and rigorous in my tutoring style- (my mom always told me that one day I would appreciate how strict she was with my schoolwork- I guess today's that day haha). I am so excited to get to know you and to help your child reach his/her dreams and goals!

Learning is not only about sharing knowledge, it is about implementing and cultivating intellectual curiosity which cements the fundamental pillars for long-term success and sustained autonomous learning.Having studied at different schools in France, Spain, Italy, and the US, I have developed a multinational sense and universality which has allowed me to absorb four languages proficiently. Additionally, attending a Military School in the US allowed me to develop the necessary discipline and character to assume the responsibility of teaching. I am a true believer in leading by example, and it is a fundamental principle in my courses.I am eager to help and excited to climb the mountain of learning with you!

Anatomy Tutor • +11 Subjects
I am a graduate of Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) and Louisiana State University at Shreveport (LSUS). I received a Louisiana Transfer Degree in Biological Science from BPCC and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry from LSUS. I played college basketball for the two years I attended BPCC and focused on preparing for medical school while at LSUS. Much of my time in college was spent studying and tutoring friends and classmates in preparation for exams. Many of my friends found that I related course material to them in a more comprehensible way than the professor did, and that the time they spent being tutored was more focused and productive than studying alone. While I tutor a wide range of science course, I am most interested in anatomy, biochemistry, and biology as I enjoy being able to relate the material as it pertains to the human body. I instruct students on utilizing the tools of knowledge, strategy, and execution to excel in taking exams, and believe that these tools can be used to be successful in many different aspects of life. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing basketball, running, lifting weights, and playing pool.
