About Me

There is nothing that gives me greater pleasure than helping students achieve their goals. My passion is teaching and I have been in academia for over 25 years. While working as a healthcare provider for many years, I attended Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY in the evening earning my Bachelors degree in Community Health and Management and then further achieved my Masters degree in Healthcare Administration from Long Island University. Over the years I learned to embrace the academic experience so I became an adjunct professor teaching college students pursuing careers in the health sciences. Fortunate for me, given my extensive healthcare and teaching experience, I secured a position as a Program Director for Health Professions at a private college in New York and after achieving so many student successes, I was promoted to the position of Associate Dean for Health Professions at the College of Westchester in White Plains NY. Although I loved being responsible for curriculum and faculty oversight, I would occasionally teach classes to stay connected with our student body. The same passion I had for taking care of patients earlier in my career carried over into my new career as an academic. I love sharing my knowledge with students and engaging with them the many facets of the healthcare profession. I enjoy teaching Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, clinical courses for Medical Assistants, Nursing, and other health care professions. I am a credentialed Respiratory Therapy Practitioner and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant so I know how challenging licensing exams can be. Having been an question writer for certification exams in Medical Assisting, I can help you prepare and succeed. I look forward to working with all of you.
