About Me

I was born in Lima, Peru and came to the US after high school to attend college. I am a native Spanish speaker with English being my second language. I graduated from Morehead State University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Communications. I went to Graduate school at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and receive my Master of Arts degree in Spanish. I was employed at Lebanon high school in Lebanon Ohio for 31 years. I taught Spanish from Levels 1 to 4, AP as well as Spanish Civilization and Culture with emphasis in Art and Architecture. Other subjects taught included Spanish Conversation, Reading and Writing Composition. I have traveled extensively and have a passion for learning about new cultures which is an enrichment in itself. I believe that a good education is necessary for a better quality of life. Learning Spanish and about the Spanish culture enhances the individual's view of a broader world. My broad focus as a tutor would be to enhance that view, my narrow focus would be helping the student to become more competent in the Spanish language.
