About Me

I am a tutor, a theater director/writer, and a recent graduate of the University of Chicago, where I got my B.A. in Theater and Performance Studies. I have experience as a writing tutor working with students in elementary school through high school and as an assistant teacher in elementary schools and kids' theater classes. I also have experience critiquing and offering feedback on plays by college students and professional playwrights. In both academic and artistic settings, I love language almost as much as I love learning about the people I'm working with and fine-tuning the ways I work with them. My goal is always to make the process as productive and supportive as possible. I see tutoring as collaboration between tutor and student. I like to start by helping a student discover what they find interesting about an assignment and then what they find most challenging. From there, we can break down the project and work together to find the strategies that work best for the individual student. I firmly believe that learning can and should be fun and driven by the student's interests and specific needs.
