About Me

I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina. I received my Bachelor of Science in Geology with a concentration in Environmental Geosciences and a minor in Sociology. While at USC I worked in the engineering school lab, gathering mineralogical data for research and publication. Following my graduation I went to George Mason University where I studied Environmental Science and Policy. While at GMU I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and taught three Geology 101 Labs per semester. During the summer I taught Biology and Physical Science at St. John DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, MD. My Master's Thesis work involves phytoplankton population dynamics in the Potomac River. I am particularly passionate about environmental science, ecology, earth science, and biology, especially related to the Chesapeake Bay. I have helped many students gain confidence in science and math and I am able to work with of all learning styles. In my free time I enjoy camping, fishing, boating, hiking and any other activity that allows me to go outside!
