About Me

I am a graduate of Lindenwood University and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a minor in Anthropology and Religion and my Master of Arts in Creative Writing. In between earning my degrees I was a tour actor/director for Missoula Children's Theatre, a camp director for a year round resident camp, and spent some time living overseas in Ireland and England. I have extensive experience working with students of all ages, most recently teaching college freshman and returning learners at a local community college in Saint Louis. While I am happy to tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Literature, Writing, Critical Thinking, and Study Skills and Organization. I believe in keeping students motivated by finding ways to make the subject relatable on a personal level. Using technology, pop culture, and up to date information are just some of the ways I help students gain confidence in the subjects they are studying. When not teaching or tutoring, I am dividing my time reading, writing, running, doing yoga, and taking the occasional nap.
