About Me

I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Maryland and I am studying to attain a degree in Psychology with a minor in Law and Society. I love teaching children everything that I know, especially if it enables them to spark an interest in that topic. I am the oldest of six children, so I had to do a lot of tutoring, while in the thick of the pandemic. In addition to helping my siblings, I also tutored a third-grader, from September 2020 all the way till June 2021. This student had an interest in getting better reading skills, therefore I was able to practice with her until she got to the point where she no longer needed me, which was exciting. While I love most subjects in school, I prefer to tutor subjects like History, Reading, Writing, some math, and French. I do want to be a Lawyer, so these are some topics where I feel my strongest interest and knowledge lie. Throughout my life, it has been instilled in me that education is extremely important and that one should always take advantage of the opportunities they are given in order to succeed. I love to help individuals who are younger than me see that and understand that it is not all bad and there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. Lastly, my dad has ingrained this quote by Vince Lombardi and it is something currently live by. The quote is "the only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary." This embodies who I am as a person and who I would love to present myself as, which is someone who works hard for herself and for others.
