Gabrielle Liriano
About Me
Gabrielle Liriano is a Dominican-American contemporary classical music composer as well as a songwriter, bassoonist, and teacher based in the NYC Metro Area. Her pieces have been performed at the University of Pennsylvania, at Berklee College of Music, Montclair State University and more. Her music is on a journey, evolving as she explores incorporating sounds and rhythms from her heritage into her pieces. Her music is transient and in a constant state of motion. The notes she places on the page are just a snapshot of the continuum of sound dancing through her mind. Some of her previous compositional work includes:-Professional bassoonists performed "Chasing Horizon" for bassoon quartet at the 2021 Virtual Meg Quigley Bassoon Symposium-The Berklee Symphonic Winds performed "What it Means to Rise" at the Berklee Performance Center.-Fahrenheit 402 Contemporary Music Chamber Ensemble performed "The Talking Gardens" at the Oliver Colvin Recital Hall.-The Berklee Composition Faculty performed "Finding Oasis" at the Oliver Colvin Recital Hall.-Penn Flutes performed "Follow the Omens" at the Bodek Lounge at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She has played in a variety of settings from traditional orchestras, to film scoring sessions, to a flamenco group, and a contemporary jazz pop band. Gabrielle is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and has her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Composition and minors in Conducting, Musical Theater Writing, and Songwriting. She is currently studying for her Masters of Arts degree in Music Composition at the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University.
