About Me

I'm currently a Learning Assistant (also known as a tutor) at Valencia College. I began tutoring math there and found my passion for it. I am passionate about helping students because everyone deserves to understand what's going on in class. I've had those moments where I did not understand something that was given to me, and I vividly remember how frustrating it was. I will be graduating with my AA this April. I will then venture out to the University of Central Florida where I will be pursuing my B.A. in International and Global Studies. I am able to tutor in most subjects, from your typical Algebra to Public Speaking. My absolute favorite subject to tutor, however, is algebra. My father is an accountant and I guess he passed the "I love math" "gene" onto me. I have a very simple teaching philosophy; a little bit of patience goes a long way. I want to make sure the students I tutor feel confident in themselves, and aren't afraid to ask questions. A phrase I strongly teach by is: no question is a stupid question. Usually, if students are having a hard time understanding something, I try to incorporate real life scenarios or even fake silly scenarios in order to help them understand better. Outside of my studies, I have a few fur babies that depend on me. I currently have 4 cats, and one beautiful Great Dane puppy that I am raising. I love to binge watch Netflix whenever I have the time. I am currently watching "How to Get Away with Murder." I look forward to working with you!
