About Me

As a parent, grandparent, and late academic bloomer, I understand selecting the right tutor for your child or yourself is crucial. So, please let me introduce myself and explain why tutoring is a passion of mine and much more than just an academic exercise. I attended college out of high school but did not apply myself. So, I dropped out, married my beautiful wife (30+ years) and became an apprentice machinist with no aspirations. Luckily, my father (my hero) and my wife (my best friend) pushed me to continue my education. So, I took a college course at age 25 while working full-time with a wife and two children at home. Luckily, my instructor took time to encourage and show me how education could change my life. I completed my A.A.S. at age 33. I was then blessed to find a tutor/mentor at work who continually encouraged me. I ultimately received a Bachelor's in Business Administration at age 43 and a Masters of Science in Management (with an emphasis on Leadership) at age 55.Over this period my career blossomed, and I reached the top of my field (Division Quality Assurance Manager). This took a lot of hard work, family support, and others who helped and encouraged me along the way. I have taught hundreds of classes at work and tutored too many to count. My passion for tutoring comes from helping people succeed both academically and in life skills like written/verbal communication and study habits. This is the best feeling in the world. I took early retirement and am lucky enough to choose my path. Thinking back over the years, which included happily coaching numerous amateur athletic teams (8-18 year olds), I decided I wanted to work with children, teens, and adults. So, I chose tutoring! I would be happy and honored if you choose me to help you or your child.
