About Me

I am a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with a social studies teaching option and I have minors in both history and Spanish. I am certified to teach social studies in grades 7-12 and Spanish in grades K-12 in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Since graduation, I have worked as a long-term substitute Spanish teacher in two different high schools where I taught Spanish 2, Spanish 3, and Spanish 3 Honors. I have provided homebound instruction to three different students that were out of school for extended periods of time due to injuries or illnesses in the areas of Spanish 1, Spanish 2, and Spanish 4. While all of the tutoring that I have done has been in Spanish, history is perhaps my favorite subject to tutor because it is the field that I have received most of my education in and it is also the subject that I did my student teaching in. I have a strong passion for American history and I have traveled extensively throughout the United States, visiting all 50 states and numerous presidential birthplaces and homes, museums, gravesites, battlefields, and monuments. I am a strong proponent of education, believing that it is the key to a happy and successful life and I believe in motivating and inspiring my students and clients to work hard to reach their true potential. I believe in providing a high-quality education that meets the needs of a wide-variety of learners. In my free time, I enjoy working out, running, going for long walks, hiking, biking, swimming, listening to rock and roll music and traveling.
