About Me

I am a graduate of Cornell University where I received my Bachelors of Science in Animal Science and my Masters in the Art of Teaching in Science. After graduation, I decided to pursue my passion for horseback riding by training with Olympian Phillip Dutton for a year. During this time, I achieved many personal riding goals in addition to teaching younger riding students the ropes of riding. After my year of training, I took a job with an equestrian product company. I assisted in marketing, sales, and operations management. I truly missed teaching and inspiring students; therefore, I began to teach some riding lessons again as well as help tutor students. While I enjoy tutoring many subjects, I am most passionate about tutoring science and more specifically biology and chemistry. I am constantly fascinated by science in everyday life which explains my favoritism towards biology! I am a strong believer in inquiry-based education where teacher and students constantly question and investigate problems rather than seek a single answer. I believe this not only increases a student's understanding of the problem, but also increases their understanding of the entire topic. In addition to tutoring and horseback riding, I am also enjoy yoga, reading, and cooking.
