Abdominal, Pelvic, and Multisystem Trauma Practice Test

A 42-year-old female was the restrained front-seat passenger in a head-on collision. She has a large area of erythema and ecchymosis across her lower abdomen that follows the path of her lap belt. She complains of moderate, diffuse abdominal pain.

A 30-year-old male is extricated after a high-speed MVC. He has a GCS of 7 (E1, V2, M4), a fixed and dilated right pupil, and an obvious femur deformity. His abdomen is distended and rigid. Vitals: BP 80/40 mmHg, HR 140/min, RR 28 and shallow.
