Letters About Literature: Dear Jhumpa Lahiri
A reader writes about the impact the novel had on her. This letter was a winner in Letters About Literature, a national reading and writing program that asks young people in grades 4 through 12 to write to an author (living or deceased) about how his or her book affected their lives, sponsored by the U. S. Library of Congress.
Lessons include point of view, characterization, figurative language, symbols, themes, and more. A 10-day unit plan with handouts. Adobe Reader required. Part of the NEA Big Read program.
