Liz

I am an English teacher at Pikes Peak Community College and I grew up in Grand Rapids, MI. I went to the University of Michigan for my undergraduate degree in French and the University of Massachusetts for my M.A. degree in Comparative Literature. I have tutored for many years, starting as a peer tutor for French students at an undergraduate, and then as a test prep tutor for the GRE throughout graduate school. Although English and Reading are my greater passion, I love all subjects and have developed a great love for math and science as well, especially through learning to see the fun in solving the puzzles they present. One of my favorite things to do is to help students discover the fun in learning as well, especially in those subjects they don't feel as confident about. In my free time I love to try new and exotic foods, go see movies with my husband, and volunteer at local animal rescues. Above all I try to have new adventures whenever possible by traveling to new places.
