I am an aspiring applied mathematician, with particular interest in image processing and climate science. I graduated in May 2017 from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor's in physics and mathematics, and am beginning a PhD program in September 2017 at the University of Chicago in Computational and Applied Mathematics. I've tutored introductory physics students for three years and enjoyed it thoroughly, as a chance to help other students while revisiting fundamental concepts to enhance my own knowledge. I'm eager to continue reaching out and helping students of math and physics to succeed and, furthermore, to appreciate the beauty and power of these subjects.

As a dedicated tutor, I find immense fulfillment in guiding students on their educational journey, helping them unlock their full potential and achieve their academic goals. The act of tutoring not only allows me to share my knowledge and expertise but also grants me the privilege of witnessing the growth and success of each individual I work with. However, my passion for tutoring extends beyond just a desire to help others; it is rooted in my personal experiences and my profound belief in the transformative power of education.Throughout my tutoring journey, I have had the privilege of assisting numerous students in preparing for the ACT and SAT exams. These standardized tests hold tremendous significance in a student's academic journey, acting as a gateway to higher education and future opportunities. I recognize the weight of these exams and the stress they can impose on students. Therefore, I strive to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment that not only focuses on content but also fosters confidence and resilience. With my experience in tutoring for the ACT and SAT, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of the structure, content, and strategies necessary to excel in these exams. I am adept at breaking down complex concepts into easily understandable components, providing students with the tools they need to tackle challenging questions effectively. Moreover, I am well-versed in the format and scoring criteria of these exams, allowing me to tailor my instruction to address specific areas of improvement for each student.Beyond imparting knowledge and test-taking skills, I believe in instilling a growth mindset in my students. I encourage them to embrace challenges, view mistakes as opportunities for learning, and develop a sense of perseverance in the face of setbacks. By cultivating a positive and empowering learning environment, I have witnessed my students not only achieve impressive results on the ACT and SAT but also develop a genuine passion for learning and personal growth.

I am a law student, but I took an unusual route to get there. I used to attend medical school but had a change of heart in my career path. Part of this was due to my political science major (double major with biology) in college as well as a number of Spanish and other courses that I took. Tutoring is something, I feel, that has come naturally to me, even back to my high school days. My goal is to help you learn as much as you can and reach your true potential. I will work hard to make sure that this happens, as long as you put in the work, too! We will work together to tailor your learning experience to your needs.

I am a current student at the Colorado School of Mines, studying to double major in Applied Mathematics and Engineering Physics. I have been tutoring students professionally for one year, but also through my schools for 5 years now. I tutor most kinds of Math and Science, and love doing so; being able to help spread understanding of a difficult concept never fails to bring me joy. As a current student, I understand how lecturing is often not the most effective (or interesting) way to learn, so I like to be very interactive and ask a lot of questions in my teaching, almost like a conversation between the student and myself.

I'm a professional actor and physicist. You're probably thinking that the two don't go together, but it does with me, and I've found a few opportunities where the two coincide. I'm a believer in hard work and never giving up. I'm well versed in math and physics. If you're in need to a tutor for yourself or your child please feel free to send me message about what you're looking for.

I graduated from college with degrees in Mathematics and Physics many years ago. Since then, I have used math every day in my business. I started tutoring while I was a student in college and have ever since, including middle school, high school and college levels, as well as home schooled students.Math is my first love but I have also helped home schooled and high school students with other areas, specifically ACT and or GED preparation.I walk in with a great deal of patience and understand that it doesn't all come easily on the first explanation.

I graduated magna cum laude from Franklin and Marshall College with a major in Physics and a minor in Chemistry. I work as a Research Scientist. Therefore, I have real life experience in what math enables us to do. A favorite slogan of mine is that math allows us to figure things out. For example, we can understand why it only takes about a group of about 20 people to get to a 50% probability that two people will have the same birthday. We can calculate the area of a triangle if we only know the lengths of its sides. I have been involved with tutoring math since 2000. One of my greatest joys is helping students develop to their full potential and achieve some important life goals. I was able to help a student pass her Praxis test in Math after failing about 10 times. She was planning to try one more time. And, with my help, she made it and became a certified teacher. Another student couldn't pass the military entrance exam, but succeeded after working with me. Math at higher levels becomes a struggle if there are holes in the mathematical concepts that came before. It is possible to gain mastery of math so that it is fun to do instead of being something to dread.I coached baseball while my two sons were growing up. I follow the Yankees, Eagles, and Penn State football. I do a variety of outdoor activities including: biking, hiking, gardening and playing recreational sports such as softball and tennis. The longest bike trip that I have taken was a two day 185 mile bike hike on the C & O canal tow path. Indoors, I play table tennis and like to read. I read biographies and histories of wars and I like to play the computer game called Shanghai. I enjoy reading Scientific American to keep up on the latest developments in science.

I am a focused individual with a deep rooted drive to succeed. I take initiative in all endeavors that are on my path. I am determined to be a success story; not only for my family but others as well. When it comes to delivering information for education purposes, I feel that I am on par with the education greats. I maintain high standards and expect my students to exceed my standards. I believe education is important, and with proper guidance all individuals can succeed.Outside of tutoring, I am a high school mathematics teacher. I have been teaching for roughly 9 years (4 years college, 5 years high school). At the high school level I have taught Algebra, Algebra II, AP Calculus, and SAT Math. I am currently teaching solely Geometry because that is my only requirement right now. I have taught an Applied Algebra course on the college level and have tutored Statistics as well. In addition to the previous, I have enriched/taught 8th grade math.
