Biology Tutors
I have tutored clients from junior high to college level in Latin, sciences, mathematics, English, SAT/ACT prep and music theory. I took Latin for 6 years and rather enjoyed it. My favorite subjects are history, the sciences and English. I actually did not like math for quite some time as a child but I have learned to love it and I would like to help any of my clients LOVE the subject I tutor them in. I enjoying singing and have done so since I was in 3rd grade.

I use an informal style so that the student can feel comfortable asking questions, hopefully relating personally to the students so that they can actually have fun and look forward to tutoring. I tutor standardized tests and most high school classes. .

I love teaching, and making science accessible to everyone is very important to me. I like to take away the serious and abstract nature of the material, and make it relevant to your personal interests. This has worked very well - some of my students even made me cookies*! I strongly believe that anyone can be good at math and science, and during my time as a tutor, I have proved myself right on several occasions. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, irritating my girlfriend with my guitar playing, reading just about anything, and practising some sweet Taekwondo moves. *Payment of cookies is not necessary or expected.

I can help with basic math, all the pre-medical sciences, and test prep for the ACT, SAT, or MCAT. My tutoring experience ranges from middle school math to ACT prep. I was a teaching assistant for Laboratory of Neurophysiology last semester, and my student evaluations emphasized my ability to be organized and clear, as well as explain information in multiple ways that made it easier to understand. When it comes to the sciences, there are always many ways in which to conceptualize a problem. I enjoy looking at problems from different directions to help others understand and learn the information better.

Certified Biology Tutor in Tucson
My Education
University of Arizona - BHS, BS, BA, Physiology, Psychology, Spanish
I would usually teach native or fluent Spanish speakers but I also taught basic conversational skills to students that had little to no Spanish background. I would come up with the lesson plans and implement them in a small classroom setting. I believe that I am a great tutor because I have a simplistic approach to many things. In other words, I try and make things as simple as possible first so that my students can understand the fundamentals first and then move on to more complex things.

Additionally, in my time I have tutored children with a variety of needs (Autism, hearing impairment, deafness, ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, etc.). When I tutor, I focus on trying to get the child to gain confidence in themselves. If they cannot figure out the problem right off the bat, I will try and help them learn to do process of elimination and learn to get the correct answer. Furthermore, I have tutored in a variety of different styles depending on the needs of the student.
