I'm a freshman at the University of Chicago planning on majoring in economics or applied mathematics. I've tutored many students, and I love helping kids of all ages learn. I took 12 AP classes in high school and have tutored in a number of those subjects including US history, trigonometry, economics, and physics. Teaching is one of my favorite activities, and i hope to be a college professor or high school teacher someday. In tutoring sessions, I don't just give pupils the right answers. Rather, I aim to help them learn the content in a thorough and deep way.

I am an undergraduate student at Vanderbilt University, studying neuroscience and cognitive science in a double major, with a minor in saxophone performance. I have always had a fascination with the concept of understanding, which was a huge factor in the decision to be a neuroscience major. I am very interested in how people learn things, and how they understand the phenomena around them. Due to this fascination, I have spent many hours trying to figure out what makes certain learning techniques "better" than others, and I have become well versed in a variety of teaching styles. Personally, I learn through understanding, and try to teach others through that same understanding. In my spare time I like to practice piano, guitar, and, of course saxophone. I also love to sail, to read, and to draw when I have extra time.

I am a recent Vassar College graduate well versed in grammatical, structural, and stylistic editing. I'm looking to help students with essays, research papers, and other writing assignments, from the planning stages to final checks. I also scored within the 99th percentile (770) on my Writing SAT, and in the 95th (700) for SAT Critical Reading. So, while I may not be your girl for math, when it comes to learning how to nit-pick grammar to perfection, and glean the most from a good short story ??? I "gotchu."A little bit about me: I studied philosophy in college (and would love to debate any pressing ethical questions you have), and captained my high school and college track teams. Don't ask me about my 30m or my mile time, but if you must know, I can run a lap of a track in under a minute. When I'm not running to a finish line, you can usually find me running to a train, plane, or automobile, or, on a good day, sitting in a park or on a beach with a good book (currently: Umberto Eco's "The Name of the Rose").I've seen many great ideas fall flat due to poor writing. I want to help bright minds communicate effectively, so let me see what you've got!

I sing and play the Flute. I grew up playing softball, and also played lacrosse and tennis. I am a huge football fan. I love to travel and have traveled extensively in Europe and Australia, as well as around the US.

I am a graduate electronics engineer and passionate about Mathematics & Computer programming. In my experience mathematics and logical thinking are critical factors for success in most of the professions. And it can be taught easily. My teaching philosophy would be to explain the topic in a simple manner with interesting examples and then adequate practice would build student's confidence. Also it could be made more interesting by playing logical games, quizzes, puzzles and with fun of subjects. This way students struggling with the subject find learning exciting and not boring and can boost their confidence. In my free time I practice meditation, read books, solve challenging puzzles & watch movies. I really look forward to work with enthusiastic students.
