I am a graduate of the University of Delaware. I received my Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering degree and obtained minors in Mathematics, Economics, and Biomedical Engineering. Since graduation I've worked for a large diversified manufacturing company in one of their leadership rotational programs. Over the past 2 years I've moved from Hartford, CT to Charlotte, NC and currently reside in Milwaukee, WI. During this time I've been active in the local communities, volunteering up to 10 hours per week. Much of my volunteer work has been focused on helping adult learners in Math and English as they progressed towards obtaining their GED and also helping young learners in the same subjects. I am a strong believer in not only learning the material at hand, but also developing a study strategy that will ensure long term success, regardless of the subject.

I am completing an iconographic and photogrammetric survey of ancient Maya architecture on the Yucatan Peninsula. Along the way I have travelled in Africa and Latin America, lived in Mexico--where I studied as a Fulbright Scholar--and in Canada, where I taught at McGill University. I started teaching test-prep classes (GRE, LSAT, SAT, and GMAT) twenty years ago and have taught for several national companies. Teaching these classes has always been immensely gratifying due to the satisfaction of helping students prepare for and meet career goals. I particularly enjoy teaching the more complex subjects, such as the LSAT analytical reasoning and the GMAT quantitative comparison. I know how difficult some of this material can be because I have worked very hard to master it myself! Due to my time spent studying foreign languages (Spanish, three Mayan languages, Middle Egyptian) I am also very good with writing, rhetoric, grammar, and style. When not teaching or doing research I might be found curling, running, woodworking, taking photographs, cooking with my well seasoned wok, or visiting art galleries.

I'm passionate about financial markets, technology and economics. My philosophy towards education is one of efficiency. I believe that time management is the key to accomplishing your academic and professional goals. I'm here to help you not only learn but absorb the material into your skill set.

I am most passionate about microeconomics and have taken many classes in the subject area in college and business school. I think it provides a very logical and analytical framework of understanding many of things we observe in every day life and thus is incredibly helpful and engaging.

I'm passionate about tutoring because it helped me constantly throughout my schooling and also really helped boost my confidence. My goal with any student is to always make sure they're thorough in all basic concepts before before diving into any classroom/homework problems or test strategies, and I'd love to help you with any of the subjects listed on my profile!

I am a career for-profit and not-for-profit CFO who enjoys helping others learn and grow in their chosen field of study and future professions. Within the past one year working with Varsity Tutors, I helped over 30 students achieve high GRE (160+ on each section) and GMAT (650+) scores. I'm currently studying at Columbia University. I have an MBA degree from UCLA and London Business School in England; My study concentration is Finance, Economics, and Investments. I own two undergraduate degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Bachelor of Engineering in Digital Packaging Engineering, both from Wuhan University, Duke University's Chinese partner and a Top 10 university there. I'm Sasha and I am a former high school biology teacher and MBA graduate who is excited to help you find success and enjoyment in your biology, chemistry, or math class or SAT II Subject Test. I taught high school biology at a public high school in New Jersey for three years and really enjoyed working with students. Additionally, I've had success on the SAT and the GMAT exams, and look forward to sharing my tips and tricks with students or business school applicants who are gearing up for these exams. Finally, having worked with a wide range of students, including many with IEPs or Section 504 accomodations, I have lots of strategies and ideas to help students who learn differently master content and can also help students who could use some extra support in their organizational and study skills.

I am currently a PhD candidate completing my doctorate at Yale University in the Medieval Studies department and has previously obtained masters degrees in English Literature and Medieval Studies from Yale, The University of Georgia, and the University of Glasgow. An Atlanta native, I returned from New Haven to live and work in Georgia while I finish the final stages of his dissertation. Over the course of my studies, I have taught undergraduate literature and history as an instructor at Yale, the University of Georgia, Oxford University, the University of Glasgow, the University of Connecticut, and Wesleyan College (Macon, Georgia).

I'm an incoming full-time MBA student at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. Growing up, my mother was a teacher, and instilled in me a love for learning. In high school, I tutored my younger brother across many subjects. Since, I've volunteered as an SAT Tutor with New York Cares for an underfunded public school in my old neighborhood in Manhattan.
