Essentially, when studying biology, I feel as though I am seeing nature in its truest form. I share this passion with students, as there could be no question more fundamental than why/how we exist.I have 3 years experience as a full-time, certified teacher. I've also instructed standardized test prep (ACT/SAT) for over 3 years. I have two master's degrees: one in Biology and another in Bioengineering.I have a true passion for education, as I know what it's like to be on both sides of the classroom as well as what it's like to be a struggling or prospering student. When I was in 8th grade, I had reached the zenith of my academic career, but having received extra lessons, I transformed into a much better student, achieving straight A's in 12th grade and earning a 3.93 GPA for my master's in Bioengineering. I am an experienced math tutor and have tutored all math levels from pre-algebra to multivariable calculus/differential equations. I served as the mathematics tutor for my undergraduate university's college of engineering where I worked with college students on achieving success in their courses. My teaching philosophy is that anyone can learn and achieve mastery in math, we just have to figure out what the best way to break down concepts is and simplify steps as much as possible. There are many, many ways to approach math problems, the trick is finding the one that makes to most sense to each individual. I hold a double bachelors degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Stony Brook University and am working on my PhD in Economics.

I have a deep love of math and physics. And I really enjoy helping students gain a deeper understanding of the power of mathematics and how useful it can be in every day life.

I manage programs across a spectrum of needs including scientific promotion, research program design and implementation, strategic planning, and financial tracking.I have a variety of scientific interests, which is why I decided to pursue a PhD in epidemiology. I have studied a number of disorders including smooth muscle cell proliferation in heart disease, DNA repair in ataxia telangiectasia, second messenger signalling in pancreatic cancer, and protein folding in hereditary pancreatitis. I am interested in the application of large data set information to appropriately inform clinical decisions and health/environmental policies. Biostatistical ethics and reproducible data are, therefore, important areas of research to me. I am also interested in cost-efficient ways to improve health outcomes, such as diet and stress.I love teaching and explaining ideas--seeing the change on a person's face when they finally 'get' a concept. I especially enjoying teaching scientific writing (including grant writing), basic biostatistics, and biomedical and statistical ethics.My passion for writing includes communicating scientific concepts to the general public, and listening to people in order to understand what they want to know. I have learned, through my work with Dr. Erin Haynes, to also listen to communities, and to value the expertise that they bring to me.Specialties: Some people are creative, some people can spin, and some people know science, but few can combine all three. I make grants better. I bring seventeen years of benchwork, including molecular biology and small animal surgery, as part of my experiential package. Expert in experimental design, career development programs, and some expertise in the design and analysis of human research studies.

I'm Alicia Willis. I graduated from Birmingham Southern College with a bachelors of science. I majored in mathematics but also took some classes in financial accounting. I am a assistant coach at North Paulding High School women's basketball team and track and field. I have six years of experience tutoring math at the K-12 level

I am a currently a high school mathematics teacher. I graduated from the University of Richmond majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing Analytics and a minor in Mathematics. I have worked with kids of all ages, ranging from elementary school to college students through various subjects. I have also worked extensively with special needs children, doing everything from teaching special education to one-on-one in-home mentoring. Through my experiences, I have continued to carry my passion for working with children and have developed my skills in making successful and individualized learning fun. Math, science and test prep are the subjects I'm particularly passionate about tutoring, as I've always loved those subjects myself. Additionally, I've worked extensively with adults on business skills, marketing and social media.

I'm currently a part time stock trader and SAT prep (math) instructor.I went to NC State for my degree in Statistics. Statistics is the science of explaining complex numbers/data into easy to understand language and I'm proud to say I refined that skill to a expert level. This has shaped the very way that I think about things in everyday life. I'm actively aware of language that might be misleading or lack specificity, which will undoubtedly benefit students learning new ideas. I particularly enjoy tutoring principals of Statistics, as its widely dismissed as "too hard".

I enjoy teaching many subjects at all different ability and skill levels. Professionally I am currently developing my skills related to Virtual Web Servers and Hosting Interactive Websites.I pride myself in being able to discover each individual student's strengths and weaknesses, in order to better teach each specific subject.
