Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student worked on four pages of science in his packet. Two pages were questions about a demonstration that was done in school today, and two pages contained new information. We did a little review as well, because he expects to take his science quiz on Friday. Then he worked on 12 math problems that involved writing equations using the slope of a line and a point on it using the formula y=mx+b. He was able to complete these quickly. My next session with him will be on Monday."
"The student spent the time reviewing for his social studies midterm. He used a study guide provided by the teacher and was prompted to record his questions and responses for later review. He was able to complete a chapter and a half of review. He was asked to continue as practiced independently until the study questions were completed. Note: proper study habits and taking responsibility for his studies was expressed in a short conversation with the student and with the father."
"The student and I went over her biology homework and talked about bio engineering ethics. That worksheet went pretty fast, so we then moved to English homework. She was diligent about finishing the homework. She says she keeps a list each week on a piece of paper to remind her of the assignments."
"Today, I had the student do some more writing on her English paper. She seemed to understand the citations a bit better and was citing paraphrasing, as well as quotes now. She also worked on her Spanish packet and math while I was there."
"Today we worked on his social studies review and I had the student look through his notes and textbook to find the information. He read the appropriate sections and pinpointed the important facts. We discussed each section of his review, and we also reviewed for his science quiz."
"Today, the student and I reviewed for his world geography test. He received a good grade on a prior test for world geography."
