Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I had our first session today. We started by looking at her PSAT scores. She got 46, 46, and 41 on the Critical Reading, Math, and Writing sections respectively. She indicated that she had some trouble with time management and test-taking strategy. I shared a few strategies on time management, particularly knowing when to skip a hard question. We looked back at the Math section on her PSAT, and, without a time constraint, she was able to answer most of the questions she missed the first time. She has a good grasp on the mathematical topics, but the style of problem solving required for the SAT is a bit new to her. We will cover problem solving skills in some depth."
"The student and I went over three more math practice tests in which he got two perfect sections and missed one on the third section. He is still scoring in the 740-780 range."
"The student and I worked on building vocabulary, especially getting a good sense for what some of the most popular words on the SAT mean. We also read and took apart an exceptional essay, and did a timed math section. She really seems to be improving."
