Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session went very well, as we ended up spending the whole time on math. It looks like the heart of our work will be a solid review of many concepts of algebra and geometry. Today's concepts included (but are not necessarily limited to) varying by direct or inverse proportionality, 3-4-5 triangles, geometry of straight lines, calculating percentage increases/decreases, and solving multi-step problems that use both geometry and algebra."
"The student got her scores back, and so we went over what she thinks we could work on. We looked at her essay, and realized that she could still move away from the formula she has been using to have an outstanding essay. We did a lot of brainstorming on potential essays. Then we looked at some strategies for improving paragraphs, another area which was a little tough in the real SAT. We'll continue to work!"
"Her essay was a little lacking this time; she admitted to having trouble understanding the prompt, but she appreciated the extra writing tips I gave her. We spent the rest of the time practicing more math problems. She got a large majority of questions correct."
