How can a Math tutor help you?

Common Core Math is a field of study that encompasses a breadth of subdisciplines. Your child could begin their journey with elementary math, which includes arithmetic, algebra, and geometry. They will additionally need to take high school math, such as physics, trigonometry, and algebra. In order to succeed in these numerous courses, your child needs to develop a strong grasp of the earliest concepts and continue to gain strength in the subject. In traditional classroom learning, a teacher can rarely work at a pace that allows every child to learn. Your child doesn't have to struggle through learning number properties or get bored with solving basic equations. You can employ professional guidance to support their educational experience. Varsity Tutors' educational directors in Youngstown, Ohio, will find you a great math tutor who will try to strive to ensure your child is prepared on exam day.

Our educational directors will match you with a math tutor in Youngstown, Ohio, who is knowledgeable in a host of alternative teaching methods to best teach to your child's particular learning style. The directors will keep many factors in mind, such as your child's interests, study habits, class syllabus, and strengths and weaknesses.

Youngstown, OH Math tutoring
We covered homework related to exponential equations, solving systems of equations, box plots and different forms of regression. The student currently has a good understanding of the material and is balancing this class with a lot of other things right now. For now, I will be assisting him with staying comfortable with the class material.

Youngstown, OH Math tutoring
Yesterday was the first session with this student, who is learning Algebra I. We spent some time getting to know each other and understanding his course structure and class needs. After that he started doing his homework which specifically regarded equations. He knew all the concepts needed to solve the equations, i.e., isolate the unknown, whatever he did in one side of the equation, he did to the other, and what was the inverse of each operation. He did very well on that, only showing difficulty towards the end of the homework, where operations with fractions were introduced. The main point was division of fractions, and the fact that he needed to show all of his work. It is important that the student not only follows the teacher's instructions to show all work, but also that he create that habit. He will be able to "see" a lot of things that will enable him to catch a mistake or not even make it, since he will be going slower and following a set-by-step structure. I was proud of the fact that he knew what he was supposed to do from the beginning of the homework. My advice is that he does not get discouraged when the challenging exercises come, and keep confident that he knows what needs to be done, all he needs to do is to keep calm and go slowly, thinking about what he is doing and why he is doing it. If he was able to solve the exercises from the beginning of the homework with ease as he did yesterday, that should not prevent him from overcoming the more challenging exercises.

The student made excellent progress on his project. We compared the analysis of his data on several platforms, and decided that Excel would be the best tool for his purposes. He will continue to work on his scatter plot. We will meet early next week.

The student and I did a bit of a review of some of the concepts we talked about last week. We also discussed how to solve systems of two variable equations using substitution and elimination, as well as systems of three variable equations. I talked to his mother about getting a new text book, and gave her a couple of suggestions of texts I have worked with. He is a bright student, but this book is a higher level book, and doesn't provide much opportunity for practice or repetition.
