Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today's session consisted mainly of working problems related to the gas laws. The student expressed confidence in working the problems. We are working a couple of lessons ahead of the class work so the student will have a lot of practice with these problems before her next test."
"Today we went over the beginning of chapter 9, which is basically stoichiometry. We studied mole-mole ratio, conservation of mass within a reaction, and then we combined these concepts together with previous concepts to solve stoichiometry problems. We also looked over the student's homework and redid every problem so that she understood how to do every one of them, and showed a very detailed work for each problem. I told her to keep these homework sheets as these would be great for review later on for tests. After we reviewed the new concepts, we then previewed for her next class--limiting reagents, and I explained to her of the different possible problems that she would see with the concept of limiting reagents. Overall, it was a great session."
"The student and I worked on an entire chapter dealing with the ideal gas law, Charles' Law, Boyle's Law, and Avogadro's Law. We also worked 30 problems and I explained, and provided examples, of the relationships between volume, pressure and temperature. I started keeping a list of formulas as the student is allowed to store formulas in his calculator when taking the final exam."
