Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I analyzed definite integrals today, briefly looking at rectangular approximations, but spending most of the session finding integrals through geometric area or algebraic manipulation, the latter including average value. She showed a strong grasp of the material, with her only potential problem being a tendency to forget the last step of the average value formula; after a few reminders, though, she stopped making that error."
"We worked on her homework. Some of the problems involved finding horizontal and vertical asymptotes. She is gaining confidence in her ability to work with functions and their graphs. She is able to solve the majority of the problems with only a little guidance. She struggles some with dividing polynomials, but the concept is new and she needs more practice with them. We are working on taking complex problems and figuring out how to break them down into smaller, easier steps so that she is able to solve the problem."
"We went over position, velocity, and acceleration in terms of calculus. I covered some of the foundational concepts to reinforce the student's knowledge, which seemed to help."
"During our session, the student and I completed an assignment through her course's online tool that her teacher assigned for points. Through this process, we completed several problems covering solving quadratic inequalities both algebraically and via graphing. The student did well during our session. We will meet again next week."
"Student 1 and I worked on linear systems of equations, while Student 2 and I worked on factoring polynomials."
"The student was a bit behind on his in-class assignments. We completed the three outstanding assignments so that the student can hand them in tomorrow. In addition, we did more work on the Pythagorean Theorem and different question types. We will continue with this topic."
