Yorba Linda, CA Test Prep tutoring
This was my first session with the student since she took the SAT. I'm really happy to hear that our work together has helped increase her score by 200 points and she is now scoring in the 2100+ range. We focused today on her two weakest sections: critical reading and the essay. For the critical reading, we worked on answering the super short passages with only two questions. I told her that when she is stuck between two answers, she should not go back and read trying to prove one of them right. She should go back and reread for a second impression to determine which is the right answer. After doing some more critical reading, I gave her an essay prompt and gave her 25 minutes to write it. It will be graded by the next session. We ended off the session with quick math quiz.
