Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed homework questions and review ahead of a geometry exam in 10 days. The student is currently working on geometry proofs."
"We were able to finish most of the student's homework today. He had a few problems remaining, but he said he would get through on his own."
"Today we worked on translation, transformation, and rotation. We worked to figure out what the characteristic equations are for manipulating images on a graph and how they can be derived."
"The student is attending summer school and has a chapter 1 unit test tomorrow. We covered the following concepts: the building blocks of geometry, measuring lengths and angles, special points in triangles, motions in the coordinates, and constructions of perpendicular bisectors in a triangle, angle bisectors in a triangle, circumcenter of a right angled triangle & its circumscribed circle, and centroid in an acute angle triangle."
"Today was our last session before her test on Wednesday. We finished up with triangle similarity postulates and circle geometry, and once we established the formulas she was going to need she was able to solve all the problems."
"The student and I worked on reviewing for her cumulative exam and reviewed her homework. We covered definitions of terms, conditional statements (conditional, inverse, converse, contrapositive, biconditional) proofs, and logic. The student did well with the problems once she got into a rhythm, but she would benefit from more practice so she knows the material fluently and can answer similar problems in different contexts. Flashcards and more practice with truth tables would help, but she did a great job with the problems we covered."
