Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has a paper for her consumer behavior class. She is studying how personality traits influence consumption behavior. Things that affect personality deal with social environment, culture, and their consciousness."
"Today we practiced probability and combinatorics. We covered a number of different strategies for solving these problems, which we will review over the coming weeks. We will also cover a number of difficult problems on a variety of topics during our next session."
"Today, we worked on more practice tests together. The student is becoming more proficient with quantitative and verbal sections. Still, as before, his vocabulary needs to improve a little, but I am confident he is ready for the exam. I will meet with him once more for a last check up and practice session before his exam date."
"Today, we worked through a good bit of the GRE topics on data and statistics. I'm hoping that tomorrow we can work through the rest and start working on reviewing any areas that the student wanted to revisit again."
"Today, we worked through the next parts of Section 5 (Quantitative) and Section 3 (Verbal) on Practice Test #1. These math questions yielded great reviews on exponent rules and permutations/combinations and some good discussions on strategies. On the verbal side, the student did not miss any of the RC questions and only missed a couple of the SC questions due to unfamiliar vocabulary. She will be continuing to review and study vocab over the next few weeks, as that is the single biggest way I believe she can improve her Verbal score. We will also start looking soon at some more difficult RC passages/questions, as this is a definite area of strength for her."
"Today's lesson focused on ratios, percentages, proportions, and other three-part formula-related math topics. We worked carefully together through several example questions in a math fundamentals book, as well as several questions from a practice book. He's going to keep churning through math content and we'll meet again next week to discuss it."
