Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We prepared for the student's final exam on Wednesday. He was provided a sample final to practice with. We worked through this sample final, taking extra time on any problems that he was not comfortable with. Overall, he did well. Only a few of the problems required extra time. They have a review in class today; we will work out any problems and work on memorizing equations in today's session."
"We reviewed the student's chapter 5 "quest", chapter 3 test, and chapter 4 test in preparation for her final. She was able to remember the concepts."
"In this section the student and I covered logarithms and properties of logs and exponents. The student had struggles with understanding how to use the properties and applying them to solve equations. There were a lot of word problems and the student excelled at those. I left the student to study for her quiz."
"We went over the student's homework, on parametric functions. The student seems to be understanding the material better, which is awesome."
"We reviewed inverse functions, then worked on endpoint behavior, continuity, and increasing/ decreasing intervals. The student remembered how to make an inverse function, and we practiced how to reflect the original function across y=x. She was comfortable with endpoint behavior and continuity, which we'll go over more during our next session for graphing rational functions. She needs more practice in graphing functions and using a graphing calculator, but is retaining and understanding the general concepts."
"We went over polynomials, rational functions, and polynomial division. The student did well remembering which steps to do for problems that had a lot of steps. I think if he is able to break down the problems into smaller chunks then he is able to complete them more successfully. He has a great attitude and is a hard worker. He's got pretty good basic skills. He has many online practice resources that he will be using before our next session. I think he will be prepared to do well on his test next week."
