Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered a new chapter of the student's textbook, which was on the subject of hobbies. It also included the introduction of a new grammar particle, 'le,' which is a very important component of the Chinese language. We had some informal conversation in Chinese and reviewed reading, writing, and pronunciation. He continues to perform well in his class, and his pronunciation is constantly improving. He shows an impressive recall of previously learned vocabulary."
"The student has a chapter test tomorrow, so she wanted me to help her get better grade. We started from a character quiz first, she got 10 out 13. Then we reviewed the dialog and she translated it for me. I think she had no problem understanding it."
"We went over the grammar and sentence structures in the newest chapter. The student, as usual, was very attentive to the details that she needed clarification on. We worked through the spacing and natural pronunciation of each sentence too. She is continuing to perfect her pronunciation."
"We reviewed some of the vocabulary and principles covered previously. We did a role play to help him familiarize himself with the vocab and grammar in chapter one, which includes greeting others and introducing yourself. We also covered reading dialogue on talking about locations and nationality. We agreed on some additional daily assignments to help with retention."
"Basic sentence structure and vocabulary were covered. I feel that the student has improved and his parents feel the same way. His Chinese is actually pretty good, he just doesn't know it yet."
"Went over a lesson in book. Went over listening and speaking exercises. Also expanded on cultural aspects of Chinese New Year."
"We have covered greetings in Chinese and how do Chinese people greet in real-life conversations. The student has the knowledge of vocabularies and I have input a few more new vocabularies. I tested right away after we practiced and she did pick them up. The student is very participative and interactive when we simulate the conversation without visual aids. She showed interests in learning new things as well. But she tried very hard and I tried my best to make it interesting when we practicing and showed her videos to make it more fun for her."
