Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed inequalities and equations with variables. We also discussed writing all the steps of any math problem."
"Tonight, we focused on PSAT questions the student will be coming across in algebra. He showed good intuition and creativity in obtaining the answers."
"We reviewed the chapter 10 test the student was assigned as homework and then moved on to section 11.2, radicals, the final section in her curriculum. Radicals were pretty easy for her. She has had to use some of the material already, so I don't really know why it is at the very end. She had just a little bit of trouble moving radicals from the denominator to the numerator, but seemed comfortable by the end of the session. Her homework is the cumulative review at the end of chapter 10 and a couple more radical problems."
"We had an awesome session today! We worked on adding and subtracting exponents. The student got a B on her last math test which is an improvement. She had a solid grasp of this. Then we did some Spanish. The best part was an English assignment. She is preparing an essay on free speech and censorship. We had a great discussion about a court case. It was fun to see her excited about learning. I was proud of how she did today!"
"We covered solving for x and finding the slope of a line. The student is more comfortable with slopes and solving for x. She needs a bit more on adding and subtracting negative numbers. I left her with a flow chart she can use to guide herself through solving for x."
"We worked on creating the example problems for linear equations, finding the x and y intercepts for the equation, the slope, and graphing the equations using the graphing calculator online."
