Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued and wrapped up his project concerning polynomials. Since we took care of the bulk calculations his main task was to incorporate them into a report. He required little assistance constructing his report, but needed more explanation when it came to the follow up questions for the project. When he realized what was being asked of him (in terms of algebraic operations) he was able to maneuver through the problems better. We spent the rest of the session reviewing all his calculations and working to ensure no errors."
"We covered algebraic division of polynomials and also reviewed the synthetic method for division of polynomials. In addition, we explored the expression of polynomials in the form f(x) = (x-k)*q(x) + r where f(k) = r. I noted that the explanation for an exercise question was not very elaborate, so I plan to email the student with a copy of an outlined explanation. Overall, she was very engaged with the session despite distractions in her surroundings. She understood the basic arithmetic operations for the exercise questions we covered, but needs to pay more attention to the signs and operations in general."
"We covered basic pre-calculus and identified the rules of limits. The student understood how to incorporate graphs when deciding limits and so deepened his understanding. While teaching I used graphs and online resources. I instructed the student to practice the rest of the homework problems in order to obtain a better understanding."
"We covered circles, domain, range, rational functions, odd, even, and transformation of functions. The student was very open and asked questions for clarity on certain problems. No extra practice, no new grades or scores reviewed."
"We covered combinations and fermentation. We went over her lesson 10 review and made sure she understood the concepts. We went over class works and voice. The student was great. She understood the differences better and was able to apply the concepts."
"We covered composition functions, domain of function, and check to find the function is odd or even. Student was struggling with small stuff like forgetting negative and positive signs. He also struggled with writing interval notation and also with greater than or less than signs. I went over the material multiple times to help him understand. He understood the material reviewed. It was a good session."
