"We covered stoichiometry, molar mass, balancing chemical equations, hydrates, and looked at old questions from labs and quizzes. We talked about labeling in unit multipliers to know how to set them up. We also discussed leaving any element to be the last substance balanced when balancing an equation."
"The student and I mainly focused on working through the chapters in her chemistry textbook and finding any knowledge gaps. We covered mole to atom conversions with Avogadro's number, atomic mass unit theory and practical application(s), percent by mass problems, and classifying chemical reactions (with a special emphasis on combustion and double replacement reactions). She is a very enthusiastic learner and was quick to catch her mistakes, as well as point out exactly where she was running into difficulty on a problem. I will be putting together a problem set for her to work on. I will also send the answer sheet (with explanations) for her to check her work. It would be good for her to bring her work with her to our session on Sunday. I look forward to working with her again."
"We covered types of solids, phase changes, gases and types of forces between molecules. She had some trouble with vapor pressure and differentiating types of solids. She was very good with phase diagrams and intermolecular forces and finished feeling positive about her test."
