Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today was the second tutoring session with the student. Today we covered solutions and solubility. She seems to have a solid grasp of the basic concepts that can be used to better understand the more difficult material. We went over some questions that came up in lecture before discussing some homework problems for her next assignment and exam."
"We studied for an exam the student has tomorrow on simple harmonic motion. She provided a packet that we worked through to improve her conceptual understanding of SHM."
"Today's session covered the lecture on ketones and aldehydes. The student and I ran through several mechanisms, going step by step through the pushing of electrons within the mechanism. While topics such as nucleophilic addition to a carbonyl and acid/base catalysis of ketones were discussed, the main focus was on the formation of imines and enamines along with the Wolff-Kishner reduction reaction. We also discussed strategies moving forward to help understand and memorize the mechanisms. The student was very receptive towards all the feedback and was eager to learn. She will continue to work on the homework packet that had been assigned to her as we move onto new topics for the next session."
