Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We started with a review of long division and multiplication. She is able to do long division much better but struggles with multiplication. We began the problem solving steps for word problems and she was able to understand that well. She could complete word problems correctly with minimal assistance."
"Today the student and I worked on the Reading Section of the ACT. We developed a strategy for the student to try at home- to find the key words and phrases in the questions, scan and find them in the passage, skim and scribble paraphrased meanings of each paragraph, and finally, attack the questions. He is willing to practice it at home and try so I was happy to hear that. We spend the second half of our time together working on the writing section of the ACT. We discussed what criteria the ACT readers will be grading his essay on and developed a strategy to help him deliver a clear and focused essay each time. I sent him home with many essay prompts to practice on."
"We reviewed algebraic equations and inequality functions today. We also reviewed the concepts of elimination, substitution, and word problems. Once she knows how to solve a problem, she is able to apply it to all problems."
