Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
" We conducted a review of Kinetic Molecular Theory, Ideal gas laws, STP, and Dalton's Law of partial pressures. We reviewed about 21 problems. We additionally reviewed of the Kinetic Molecular Theory definition. In addition, we discussed the relationship between Le Chatelier's Principle and Nernst equation correlation for an upcoming presentation"
"We met today to review for a chemistry test on Thursday. The test will cover molecular composition, gas laws, and heating compounds. The student did a great job working through the review sheet. It's clear that these topics are coming back. The student should make sure to spend some more time this week going back through the notes and homework assignments and reviewing some of the trickier problems."
"The student was preparing for an upcoming exam on ideal gas laws. We spent the session doing practice problems concerning Charles's, Boyle's and the noble gas laws. I also re-enforced concepts such as standard temperature and pressure (STP), as well as the barometer and the units of pressure."
"The student and I began working on a diagnostic state assessment for me to properly identify his confusions regarding chemistry. He got approximately 70% of the questions right throughout the beginning section of the exam."
"The student and I completed a review of a homework assignment during this session. It was 25 problems, and she had not been taught how to do some of them, so we had to review the slides from the upcoming class to complete it. It was a long session, but we were successful and I think the student understood how to do all the problems."
"The student and I continued our SAT math prep. We focused on the no calculator section to be aware of the level of math he needs and to address gaps in knowledge. (He will be taking Algebra II this upcoming year.)"
