Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student is still waiting to take his midterm in his Physics course, and he has not yet begun the next section of his course, so we began with an extended lecture on the next topic, rotational motion. We covered rotational kinematics and dynamics, moments of inertia, angular momentum, and centripetal/centrifugal forces. After discussing the conceptual aspects of all of these subjects, we spent the rest of our session working practice problems on everything we had covered."
"Met with the student for the first session and we covered Electrical forces and charges (Coulomb's Law). In preparation for the student's quiz this week, we covered a set of homework problems which mostly dealt with Coulomb's Law. A previous homework problem was reviewed which contained charges in component form of vectors, which I thought was a bit advanced for regular high school physics. We worked through the homework problems; the student is a bright student who just needs to make sure his units are consistent when performing calculations, as one small mistake could throw off his entire solution. I also plan on teaching the student a few test taking strategies for him to use for any science or math related class."
"We reviewed electric field, force, and potential, as well as parallel and series DC circuits for the student's test (Wednesday). There were a few equations for potential/work/energy that he did not recall, but once we went over the equations, he knew how to apply them to problems. I created a sheet with equations and some hints for him to review tomorrow in addition to looking back at his homework problems."
