Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student and I worked on science. We discussed Charles' Law and Boyle's Law, including what they were, when you used them and what the graphs looked like. She used this information to finish some homework she received earlier in the day. I was able to help her understand some notes she had taken during class. Afterwards, we reviewed the definitions we worked on during Tuesday's session, as she has a test coming up. She remembered most of them, but we reviewed a few including crystalline/crystal lattice and the relationship between fluid/liquid/gas. We talked about what each meant, and worked on different devices/tricks to remember which was which. By the end of the session, she had a good grasp on all of the terms, and was able to answer some questions I posed her."
"We spent most of the time focused on completing his astronomy packet and study guide in preparation for his test on the subject. He seems to be retaining the concepts over the past two weeks. We finished by going over his math homework. He is retaining the strategies used to apply the Pythagorean Theorem to analytic geometry problems."
"We covered: Chapter 16 review packet covering concentration (molarity), solutions, applying Henry's Law, supersaturated/saturated/unsaturated, solubility graphs. We also discussed gas solubility in more detail and predicting changes in solubility with changing pressure. Lastly, we discussed/edited the student's letter to college admissions."
