Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed quiz material including determination unknown molar masses of acids or bases, standardization of acid or base titrants, determining the molar volume of gases and Beer's Law. The practice problems emphasized analytical and general chemistry."
"Worked on enthalpy and electron configuration. Need to work on memorizing equations and molecular orbital theory."
"Completed an overview of acids and bases chemistry. Focused on pH,pOH,Kw,and hydronium and hydroxide concentration. Included fundamentals in understanding how to classify acids and bases based on the Arrhenius and Bronsted-Lowry models. Completed at least 15 practice problems to solidify mastery."
"Covered the Ideal Gas Law and variations (Charles' Law, Boyle's Law, Gay-Lussac's Law), worked problems and started notes on Partial Pressures. Student was not too familiar with the material, but learned quickly. Strategies included word association and word problem solving techniques (writing down given values first) and identifying the goal of the problem."
"Tonight's biology video was on pathogens as the beginning of viruses. After watching the video, we reviewed the student's homework packets and even worked a little bit ahead on some of the information. She seems to have a pretty good understanding of what we've gone over so far. We will be meeting on Monday so that we can get a session in before her test on Tuesday."
"We worked on phase changes, stress, strain, Young's modulus, enthalpy, entropy, and effects of temperature and pressure on molecules. As is her norm, the student grasped the concepts quickly and was a pleasure to work with. She resumes her class schedule next week and will be in touch regarding that lesson."
