Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on confidence intervals mostly, but this involved reviewing the conceptual basis of z-scores and sample distributions. He doesn't have any trouble recalling steps to solving problems, so we are able to dig deeper into why different methods work and how the different types of problems are related and different."
"1. Mediation, moderation and z-tests. 2. I told her to review the normal distribution. 3. She needs help reviewing the z-test. 4. She seemed to grasp the concepts more easily after I covered them."
"In this session we covered normal distribution, binomial distribution, standard deviation, z scores, and probability. I worked with the student to help her understand the underlying principles of these subjects. She worked on homework problems to solidify her understanding and we discussed how to apply what she has learned to the test."
"The student and I met last evening to go through integration for her test that is on Monday. We started by going through the derivative and the then the integral for natural log problems. We then went over how to deal with integrals that don't match up."
"The student's class has started a new topic in his textbook. We defined new terms and reviewed his homework for the new topic. After that, we worked on SAT practice problems. We talked about strategies and techniques to use during the test."
"Today we did some final review for the student's last exam tomorrow. She definitely seemed more comfortable with this material because it was more recent. She had some small difficulties reviewing her third test, but I reviewed the procedures for fair division and she seemed okay with the material. She was extremely confident with her material from the last test, so if she can solidify her grasp on the subject matter from the first half of the class, I'm sure she'll do well on the final."
