Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went through some of the problems she had been assigned covering molar ratios, ionic ratios, and basic interactions. Next time, we will look at solubility rules."
"The student did not have school the last two days since our tutoring session, so there was no new material. We began by looking at the limiting reagent and percent yield problem I asked him to do for homework. With a little help, he was able to answer it correctly. Then we looked back through his chemistry text to create a cumulative review sheet. We began near the beginning. Topics we discussed included: -standard units and their conversions -density -periodic table and trends -isotopes -reactivity of various elements (we watched a video on Group 1 elements) -dot structures Next week I would like to look at empirical and molecular formula determination and revisit dot structures."
"Today, the student and I simply worked problems. We did problems involving predicting and balancing reactions as well as some stoichiometry problems. In our session tomorrow, we will review gas laws."
