"We began the session going over the lectures on renal physiology and discussed the student's questions. We then went through practice questions discussing and making flashcards to topics she plans to study. We concluded the session going over practice questions."
"Concepts Covered: Probability distribution, binomial distribution, normal distribution, standard normal distribution, z score, sampling distribution, central limit theorem. Student's Attitude: The student was very friendly, easy to communicate with, asked questions when he had confusion, and was great to work with. Strategy and Study Skills: We went over how to identify which type of probability set up was being used by looking for key words in the problem, how to use the table for standard normal probability distribution, and how to convert between random normal to standard normal probability distribution with the z score. Scores/Grades: We were going over the homework he was assigned. He wasn't really sure about the concept but after some explanation was good."
"We spent the session studying for his cell structure test. He was pretty sketchy on the distinction between mitosis and meiosis so I had him watch a short video about the differences. We got through about half of the worksheet and he felt pretty confident about what we had covered. The test is on Thursday, so we will finish the practice/study guide on Wednesday. I felt he was engaged and eager to grasp the material, and had a genuine interest in the subject matter. Good session."
"Today we covered the relationship between acceleration, velocity, and displacement, and the difference between velocity/ speed and distance/ displacement. I would say the student should continue to work with graphs that show acceleration and velocity to become more familiar with the relationship between the two, and he seems to have a good grasp on velocity vs speed."
"Today we covered the rest of the energy nutrient balance lectures, focusing on concepts like photosynthesis and osmotic gradients. We also went over his prelab for organic chemistry for the first 30 min of the lesson."
"Today we covered the sympathetic nervous system, mainly. Preganglionic and postganglionic fibers as well as presynaptic and post. We also discussed synaptic junction, methods of modulating/shutting down synaptic signaling, and sympathetic ganglia/chain. We then discussed alpha 1 and 2 cells."
