"Today the student and I talked through different bony landmarks that she will be tested on for her laboratory practical on Monday. We also developed a plan for the upcoming weeks to work on a paper that is due in November. She is doing very well with the material, and as always, I look forward to working with her again soon!"
"Today we covered Hess' Law: I just needed to demonstrate a couple of examples and show him how to look for key components which would immediately show him which equation to "flip." A quick bout of cancelling repeating compounds on both sides, and you are left with the correct equation (the one you wanted). If you "flip" an equation (write it backwards), you change the sign of its enthalpy (delta H). Add the resulting enthalpies together, and you have your answer. Hess' Law, " The path doesn't matter, only the starting point and end point.""
"Today we covered hydrocarbon chemistry, structure, function, and nomenclature. The student did well, and just needs more familiarization with terms, while the concepts are straightforward. She has a positive learning attitude and volunteered herself to put in extra time to learn the terms she will need for the exam. I had her teach me the material through her class PowerPoint slides, where I asked her questions to synthesize concepts that seemed uncertain. I expect her to do well on her next exam."
"Today we covered integumentary system, structures, and functions plus accessory structures. We then started to work on bones. We discussed bones of skull and structures of skull. The student seems to be doing well. She did a great job on her first exam - B! She seems very attentive and engaged. She is very bright and just needs a little more practice with anatomy structures. A little more time in the session would have been perfect for us. For study skills I recommended she study names and structures and quiz herself. She is an excellent student and hard worker!"
"Today we covered joints, the circulatory system, and the nervous system. The student had trouble distinguishing between different joints. She was extremely satisfied when she understood the material. I drew out certain figures and tables to outline important concepts. I left her with example test questions. She did average with the questions that were provided."
"Today we covered kinematics. The student has a positive attitude. I assigned extra practice in the form of the rest of the packet problems. I would also like the student to look at the packet problems and attempt them before our tutoring sessions. I would like her to do this with her notes present, that way she can try to workout something which we can go over even if it isn't the correct answer."
